A postscript to my Gaga Rant- Youtube and her ego....

The forum is being crappy, so some more OT. Just a post scrip to my last Gaga post.

Well the forums were being crap last night for me also, so I decided to see how Gaga new song was doing. It is still #1 on Itunes. which I can't figure out why and I stumbled upon a interview she did that just made me completely dislike her. I will link that in a min, but first me commenting on Youtube last night.

Youtube doesn't allow you to see your old comments and that video has a lot of comments- too many to go through. Alot of the comments were either this (said in dumb girly voice) "Like this is AMAZING! EPIC!" and then some were I HATE HER! UGH! I could of joined in and said this song is stupid, but I decided to leave a intelligent comment. Was basically saying this song is disrespectful despite it being metaphorical, done at the worst time, and if I was to sing it, it would sound like I'm praising this guy (Judas). Now usually the responses to me will contain vulgar language and insults as youtube people can be well... trolls. Instead two people agreed with me, but then we had one idiot who decided to call me out on my intelligence. If they had reading comprehension class, they would know that I'm quite aware it is a metaphor. It's in the comment duh! Then he decided to sight songs that had nothing to do with religion. The guy was a f'ing moron and nicely shut him up as didn't reply back to me. Probably couldn't wrap brain around it or come up with a better response. xD Clear and simple, if the song was simply about a guy, then why bring it out right before Easter?! She knew what she was doing.

Now I was fan of hers. I was listening to Just Dance before anyone really knew about it. I have brought her albums and I had even planned to buy this new one till listening to Judas. I never took her serious though, not like her little monsters. I listen to her stuff when I felt like listening to dance music and that was it. She took all the attention well at first, but now that she on her 3rd album I'm beginning to really not like her at all. Her ego is out of control! I mean it's disgusting how full of herself she is now. The article about the interview is here, but I will copy and paste it with things I want to point out underlined.

The biggest pop star in the world has had a mini-meltdown. Lady GaGa broke down in tears (as usual) during her recent interview with NME magazine after being questioned over the similarities between her hit “Born this Way” and Madonna’s classic “Express Yourself”.

A bit of it does sound quite a lot like ‘Express Yourself’, though, doesn’t it?
“I don’t think… I swear to you. I am not stupid enough to put out a record and be that moronic.”
The reference seemed so obvious that it had to be intentional because, as you say, you’re not stupid…
“No. Listen to me. Why the fuck…? I’m a songwriter. I’ve written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I’m getting one over on everybody? That’s retarded. What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about. I will look you in your eyes and tell you that I am not dumb enough or moronic enough to think that you are dumb enough or moronic enough not to see that I would have stolen a melody. If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It’s the same one that’s been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I’m the first fucking artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist, it means that I’m fucking smart. Sorry.”

The criticism did seem to take the wind out of the song’s sails.
“There’s a lot of people who want to see me fail. The minute they see something to shoot at, they shoot, and the bigger I become the bigger target I am. Nobody in this room at any point looked around and said ‘Oh my God, it’s ‘Express Yourself’. ‘ Not once. Listen. I swear to you. I can only be honest with you about it.”

What will people say about ‘Judas’?
“I dunno… I think they will really love it. (Starting to well up) I just don’t want my fans… I don’t know. This is exhausting. I just don’t wanna perpetuate that shit. I’m sure you want to address it but it’s just so ridiculous. I was just fucking shellshocked by it. It’s so funny to hear you say, ‘It must have been a homage’, I’m like, NO. When I homage, I fucking homage with a big sign saying I’ve done it. Why would I not do that now? (Sighs) I just like… I just have to say… (Starts crying) I feel like honestly that God sent me those lyrics and that melody. When you feel a message to give to the world and people are shooting arrows at it… there’s no way for something that pure to be wrong. (Reaches for Marilyn Monroe lighter) I need a cigarette.”

Who knew that it was so easy to send GaGa into meltdown mode?
It’s all very interesting to hear her swearing black and blue that the similarities were unintentional. Especially after the back ‘n’ forth that went on between GaGa and Madge after “Born this Way” premiered.
The drama started when Madonna randomly uploaded the 1989 VMAs performance of “Express Yourself” onto her official Youtube. GaGa subtly retaliated the next day by performing “Born this Way” at the Grammy awards rocking a similar version of Madonna’s iconic platinum ponytail from the Blonde Ambition tour, followed by an odd acceptance speech in which she thanked Whitney Houston for giving her the strength to write “Born this Way” — if you know your diva history, then you’d know that Whitney and Madonna were notorious enemies throughout the 1990s. Shade to the highest power.

GaGa followed up her Grammy performance by announcing on Jay Leno that Madonna and her team mailed her their blessings over “Born this Way”. Madonna’s rep then hilariously told CNN that they were “unaware” of any such e-mail having been sent.

Also another self absorbed comment from Gags to end this post with...
I thought I was the cultural shitstorm," she admits. "I walk into a room, people write about me. It wasn't until I released [the single] Born This Way that I realized how completely vacuous everything had been. I realize now what a small impact I've really had, and how massive the impact is that I'm about to have."

She's something anit she?! I know a lot teens people visit this site and I thought you should know the truth about her. The fame has went to her head.

Side Note: I will be blogging more about pop culture and stuff, but only a little.

Edit: To add her lyrics are wrong. Judas betrayed Jesus one time for money. Peter denied Jesus 3 times, not Judas. Fail!

  1. If I become famous and start acting like that, I give everyone full permission to slap me back to my senses lol
@the interview, I think she's probably just fed up with all the stuff about the song...idk.

  2. I almost completely agree with you about her. I use to be a fan, not a "little monster" but just a fan. I liked her, she had spunk. But she's atrocious now. I don't like her attitude or her antics. I do think Judas is a catchy song, but she's not what she use to be in my opinion.

  3. Eh I must admit I still like her. I'm not one of those little monsters or anything like that but I do like her music and so what if it sounds like one of Madonna's songs. Look at the Black Eyed Peas, they plagarise all the time and you don't hear about it half as much as we're now hearing about this.

    As far as I'm concerned I view Lady Gaga in the same way that I view Jedward; whether you like them or not they are entertaining and that's why I like them. I'd rather listen to artists that make the effort than a bunch of autotuned no-hopers mimicking another pop-star's dance routine. XD;

  4. ...and yes, I see the hilarity of mentioning Lady Gaga and Jedward in the same sentance XD

  5. I don't hate her. Dislike somewhat? Yea, but only becuz she won't shut her mouth and just focus on the music itself. I don't think she would get compare to Madonna so much if she wouldn't pull acts like she did with Judas. She should just stay away from religion all together IMO. Born this way is just one of those things that will always get compare to Madonna's Express yourself.

I hear did a snippet of the song government hooker last night and peak my interest. I will still give her album a listen too. I still may not buy the whole thing. It will have to be the album of the decade as she said for me to buy it.

I like her music, but her personality sucks and if the album is more of BTW and Judas than no thanks. I wish she would go back to the silly pop singer she was before and come back down to earth.

  6. Too add I know she trying to get ppls attention and all, but her outfits are enough to get ppls attention. I think the song Judas is catchy in it's own way (still annoys me), but she should not be making songs that piss people off. She already disliked enough. >_>

  7. Honestly, what the hell? She gets a few awards and is suddenly convinced she's the world's greatest musician? I read one of her interviews yesterday and she's really gone of the edge. And she used the R word? Sorry Lady GaGa, but the LGBT community aren't the only ones who need acceptance.

  8. Blogger needs to add edit button. ugh.

And yea she's lost it. She is only on the 3rd album and she's thinking everything she does will be world changing/epic. She taking herself waaaayyyy to serious. She making people not like her. Artist who act like this, usually dissapear or do something stupid to tarnish their career. I hope she catches a clue soon becuz it's getting really riduclous.

By the way, she has another song on the album involving religion called Bloody Mary. If she's smart, she'll get rid of it. Judas is no longer #1 on itunes so all of these type of songs are not working in her favor too much.

  9. Hey Vid, I don't agree with you at all but that's what friends are for right? xD. But She is reffering to her boyfriend when she says 3 times he betrayed me. Not Judas himself.

  10. Also, GaGa isnt full of herself in my eyes, you have to admit, in 2 years becoming a WORLDWIDE sensation would go to your head a bit. I think she just has her own personality and may seem like a bitch sometimes but shes not. I AM a little monster and I always will be. I saw her in concert and I cried, it was beautiful.

  11. I know it was about a guy, but not her boyfriend. I just can't help but think it's bit rude to put it out right before Easter. I just wish she wouldn't come off so arrogant and get back to the fun LG of before. And no prob. We can't all agree. :)

The Monster Ball looks like it would be a awesome concert. :o

  12. I downloaded Judas a couple nights ago (I think...?)

I'm quite fond of the beat and the way she sings, so I'm not complaining too much. She may seem arrogant, (For all I know, she could be), but I don't think I've heard of a pop singer who isn't.

Justin Bieber. (Bleh). One of my friends cousins worked for one of his tours and said he was completely disrespectful to anyone other than his immediate circle.

    Same with Mariah Carey.

Anyways, just wanted to stop by and catch up on the blog and I saw this post.

    Have a good day :)
