Well the rumor is EA will be making a big ol announcement for Monday ((May 6th) and with Island Paradise soon to be released, many are wondering what it may be.
TS4? An online game to replace Sim social? Would EA really be that stupid to release TS4 when TS3 is far from perfect or complete. As litabelaqua stated, it would be a bit premature to release the next installment with all the hype of TS3 latest money grabbers er...line up to come...
Well with the TS4 rumor growing, some most simmers were less than pleased...
And it isn't enough to buy all these eps and spend loads of time getting the game just to work. Do we really need another brand new sims series to cause headache and distraction from what they should be focusing on. I think we're getting a bit a head of ourselves aren't we?
Maybe and maybe not? Because than this news appeared....
Yes the TS4 link is now active.
It leads you to the Sims 3 page. Replace 5 with 4 into that link and it doesn't work. Maybe they'll getting domain ready for when that time comes or maybe this is the so called the big announcement.
Well if it is TS4, how can one be excited? TS3 is glitchy and SimCity was a travesty! TS4, TS4 online. All of it seems unnecessary when EA can barely fix any of their sims games. Then throw in the "only online idea" from Sim city and you got a train wreck ready to happen! Whatever the big announcement is, let it be something beneficial to Sims 3 series! For everything plumboby and awesome, don't let it be Sims 4! We're not ready yet!
EA's record isn't very good with fixes and support. I'm loath to give them more money for another series when they do so badly with the current one. And there's their increasingly invasive advertising. I don't agree with their always online approach masquerading as multi-player or social features. So if Sims 4 is heading down that path then it's a definite NO. Otherwise it's a wait and see. I'm in no hurry to get it.

ReplyDeleteBut if is, pff I'm not starting over with another series this soon and I refuse to go through the headache Sim city players went through with their cloud service if that's what it's all about. If they can't get TS3 perfect before moving on tho, why bother to buy TS4.
Meh it just seems far fetched they would be announcing TS4 so soon, but we'll see.
I don't think they will be announcing Sims 4 either (I realised I didn't actually say that). The domain would be just to ensure it's available when they need it so doesn't mean much. They would be brave to do anything just yet with the massive fail of the Sim City launch still in everyone's minds.

ReplyDeleteWell I will reserve excitement until details are released (apparently later today). Still Sims4 might be a good fresh start to simming. Well at least for me, I have lost all interest ever since pets was released.
Though it needs to be said, simming is one expensive hobby!
